PCI SAQ P2PE
PCI DSS Self-Assessment Questionnaire P2PE, for merchants using a validated point-to-point encryption solution.
SAQ P2PE is for merchants that accept payments only through a point-of-interaction device that is part of a PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) solution listed by the PCI Security Standards Council, and that store no cardholder data electronically. Because card data is encrypted at the point of capture and the merchant cannot decrypt it, the merchant's exposure is significantly reduced.
SAQ P2PE therefore covers a reduced subset of PCI DSS v4.0.1, focused on the correct use and physical protection of the validated devices and on following the solution's P2PE Instruction Manual, rather than on securing systems that handle clear cardholder data.
Accept payments only through devices that are part of a PCI-listed P2PE solution and follow the provider's P2PE Instruction Manual.
Maintain an inventory of point-of-interaction devices and protect them from tampering, substitution and skimming.
Ensure no cardholder data is stored electronically anywhere in the merchant environment.
Physically secure devices and inspect them periodically for signs of interference.
